T&S or Gok?
|
|
****Sorry if you've already discussed this****
We've all longed to be 'made over' but given a choice between Gok or Trinny and Susannah, which would you opt for?
Me? It would have to be Gok - at least he doesn't grab handfuls of flesh or sneer. Not sure the country could cope with a mile-tall photo of me in my guzundas but I wouldn't mind having a sultry photo of me to hide in my knicker drawer...

Gok every time! Even when he's pulling someone's wardrobe apart it's never done in a nasty way. T & S seem to enjoy pointing out peoples faults!

Hi Ashbee,
Gok, every time, I wouldnt be held responsible if those two patronizing females got their hands of me, they are just down right rude, and much to touchy feely for my liking.
As least Gok, is not verbally cruel, and I think, he really tries to help in a genuine way.

Definately Gok every time. That good old Leicester boy would be welcome to make this Leicester lass over anytime!! I like the way he makes the women feel better about themselves without being harshly critical. He creates confidence and self esteem fantastically> Obviously I'm a fan!!!

Gok for me too! (Although I would never be brave enough to be "made over" myself!) I just love the way he is with the ladies - so friendly and non-judgemental. I find T&S a bit overbearing.

Re: T&S or Gok?

Oh dear.... I am going to be the odd one out... I cant stand Gok - I think he is patronising, quite crude in his language to women and think he disrespects them. Cant see the attraction at all.
I like T&S but dont like the way they also grope women and again some of their remarks are quite hurtful.
I love the makeovers that both do and that is the main reason I watch. Just a personal thing I guess.

Gok everytime. He appears to ooze genuine warmth and cares about the ladies he works with. T and S seems to gain pleasure from putting people down! Just my opinion!!
However, I would welcome a makeover from anyone - I really need it

Gok for me, too (if only!) - much prefer the way he speaks to the ladies he's making over. Find T & S quite harsh and unkind.

Gok for me. He just seems more human and I couldn't stand T&S grapping my wobbly bits!!!
Is it just me, but do T&S look as if they have been 'tweaked' to anyone else?

Re: T&S or Gok?

I'd chose Gok over T&S because I don't like the way they go on about tits and arses, and I thought that show where they tried to sort out peoples marriages was appalling, especially when they made the poor souls stand naked behind a backlit screen so we could all see them in profile. And while I loved the "naked" photoshoots Gok did, I felt he too went a step too far when he got women to stand naked in shop windows with a crowd gathered outside. There's a fine line between tasteful and exploitation. What I do love about Gok though is the way he builds up women's self esteem. I've seen pictures of him as a child and he was very chubby, so he's obviously worked hard to make himself over.

I think T&S star is defintely descending sand that is why they are now making more outrageous comments and wearing weider clothes on their new show defintely a case of trying too hard

I like T&S but love Gok. He's a man who seems to genuinely like women and wants to teach us to like ourselves. I thought I'd ask him to be my new best friend, take me shopping at Bluewater, tell me I look devine and a lot younger than my 40 something years or at least buy me some tummy flattening knickers! T & S have changed my life! Their early makeovers were the best. I have them all on tape still. (Yes, all of them!)

Re: T&S or Gok?

Gok definitely comes across as more sympathetic, but he and T and S all know their stuff though this doesn't stop them making their own fashion mistakes. The great thing about all three of them is that they never tell people to lose weight which is refreshing.

Re: T&S or Gok?

I love them all but Gok edges it for me. I think all 3 are very knowledgable and all have a common goal of improving our self esteem, but Gok has such a lovely way with him.
To quote the great Dawn French, I too have a magnificent bosom and I'm sure Gok would love by "bangers". (Although I think he would have his work cut out disguising my backside!!).

I prefer the older ones too. The original format was best but I don't enjoy it with the 2 new ladies. They've made a lot of difference to my way of clothes buying.

Re: T&S or Gok?

I have just joined this forum and can't believe that anyone believes that t/s or gok makes women of any size or age look good - I have felt embarrassed at how dreadful the makeovers were - especially the one when t/s dressed the larger woman - the poor things looked huge and ridiculous in their new outfits. Turquoise satin with a black waspie!!! How could she appear on TV looking so awful! I spent several years designing clothes for larger sizes and would'nt dream of putting them in those stiff, structured outfits - loose, flowing knitwear and really dramatic jewellery are the answer - like the large black doctor in Holby city wears - she is stunning, proud to be big and elegant

Re: T&S or Gok?

True but I'm a 24 and wouldn't be seen dead in loose and flowing. All it does is cling to the bits I prefer to gloss over. I much prefer structured clothes and think they look better on me too.

Re: T&S or Gok?

Each to her own!Personally I could eat Gok with a spoon (Guilty Crush!)but he doesn't always get it right. It must be tricky to understand everything about the subject's lifestyle and personality so quickly- sometimes even our best friends try to get us into outfits that are just 'not us'.I too prefer the early TandS - just lately I have been put off by the sheer volume of botox sloshing around on screen! I'm currently struggling with the 'skidding-rapidly-downhill-into-forty' and the 'what can I get away with?' dilemmas!

Re: T&S or Gok?

I agree with Psyche - I'm a 22 and loose and flowing just makes me feel like a barge. I try and keep some shape. I think you have to be tall and have a great personality to do loose and flowing well.
