VJS, without knowing what sort of style of clothes you like it's a little difficult. Next do reasonably priced career wear, so do other high street stores.

I would suggest looking for good fitting tailored garments in a dark neutural colour (Navy, Grey, Brown, Black), preferably a suit which you can wear with different tops to ring the changes.

Hi VJS

I usually scout around all the high street stores. I am quite short so end up in wallis petite section! Normally find smart trousers there also Zara is quite good and Debenhams.

Good luck in the New Job let me know how you get on!

Hi. As a financial advisor I assume that you will have to dress quite smartly and not too 'way out'. If you know what size you are in places like Next and Marks and Spencers a good place to get suits, smart trousers etc is ebay. There are lots of brand new clothes on there which sell for a relatively cheap price because they are last season; but tailored trousers etc don't change that much from year to year. I recently got a brand new, grey, Next suit for £20 and it worked, I got the job!

Good luck with your job.

Next have some really nice jackets, trousers and skirts in at the moment. YOu could mix and match them. They also have some quite stylish blouse type tops in.

Good luck in your new job, hope it goes well.

Re: Dressing for New Job ???

Summer,

After seeing you at CG, I could see you in a smart fashionable suit, with a smart tie neck blouse underneath. The colour I would suggest would be light grey (your colouring would suit that) and a slate blue blouse underneath. To go with that a good quality handbag, and high heels.

I dont think you can beat what the other girls said about Next, they are not overpriced, and dont be surprised, but Dot Perkins have some really nice autumn stuff I was in there the other week.

Debenhams have some nice classic trouser suits at a reasonable price, and you could buy 1 jacket and 2 pairs good, and feel good.

Then buy some simple tops - simple t-shirts are great - and some lovely statement necklaces. M&S do some fantastic ones, as do Wallis.

Enjoy the new job!

Zara have some really lovely business wear - grey dresses and jackets, beautiful blouses, simple sobre coloured sweaters. OK if you are under a size 16 as not cut on the generous side. Their shoes and accessories are super too.
