Eye make up remover
|
|
Good morning all!
I need to buy some eye make up remover today; I have finally used the last of a Bliss one I bought in New York. Can any of you recommend one? Price is not a major factor as I don't use it every day, but I don't really like the very oily ones.
Thanks very much!

Hi there!
I use a very cheap one, widely available even in little local chemists - from the Simple range - it does the trick nicely. I don't like greasy ones either. (I still recall with embarrassment as a teenager telling lady on the Clinique counter that I used Vaseline to take off my eye make-up and she pleaded with me to stop! She said even if I didn't buy a Clinique product I had to promise her I would buy proper eye make-up remover!)
I should add, I don't use waterproof mascara so can't vouch for Simple on that!

Thanks for the suggestions Hollyj and Sha. I have used the Johnsons wipes - I love having wipes for lazy evenings in front of the telly or for after the gym. I might try the Simple remover; I don't use waterproof mascara either and I like the idea of it being gentle.
Thks a lot x

Another fan of simple here, can't find anything to beat it for quality and price, and I do use waterproof mascara all day every day and lots of it being very blonde.

I highly recommend Chanel Precision and L'Oreal De-maq expert.
They both remove waterproof and non-waterproof mascara, are gentle, non-oily and last for ages.

Thumbs up here too for Simple. Been using it now for 3-4 months.

Hi RunGirl
You may have bought one by now but the L'oreal gentle eye make up remover for sensitive eyes is another one thats worth a try - it costs somewhere between £2 and £4 and you can buy it from Boots, Superdrug or any of the major supermarkets.

I use the non-scented baby wipes for all make-up removal - the ones from the co-op are biodegradeable and better than Johnsons or the more expensive ones. Work a treat and very cheap - I can have allergic reactions to just about anything, but have not had any problems whatsoever.

I use eye make-up remover pads. Whatever is on offer. I reckon they are all pretty much the same, but I always use a damp cotton pad afterwards to remove the eye make-up remover, regardless of the type.
Just finished Champneys, now on Johnsons.

Hand on heart the very best eye make-up remover I have ever used is Floracil by Gatineau. It is a pretty blue colour and not at all oily. You don't need to rub your eyes, just put some on a pad, leave the pad on the eye for 30 seconds or so and then wipe away!! I have very sensitive eyes and this never stings plus you can re-apply eye make-up very quickly again without fear of it sliding off if you want to refresh make-up before going out for the evening. If interested, you can get a 400ml bottle from QVC for £23 plus postage or try ebay where you can sometimes get cheaper. Not cheap but it lasts for ages!

I agree both Simple and L'Oreal are good, although I don't use waterproof mascara

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who offered me suggestions; I bought the Simple one as it seemed sensible to try a recommendation from a cheaper range first. So far so good - I really like it. I am sure I used a Simple eye make up remover in the past which was a lotion and made my eyes sting, but this clear liquid one is great. Thanks very much!

I have been following this thread and yesterday after reading Rungirl's comment I bought some Simple eye makeup remover. I used it last night and am really impressed. It was far nicer to use than my usual Clarins.
Thanks for the info.
