New Update!

Another op next Wednesday as they need to take another 1/2" away. See oncologist 2 weeks later then start radiotherapy in early Jan, all being well.
Bugger, blast and damn!.

Biker_babe............. sorry to hear you have to have another op and that new treatment won't now start till January. You have the right attitude in dealing with this and I am sure your fighting spirit will win through.

Does that mean you'll be in hospital in Glasgow in the new year? I might be up there then .. do people having radiotherapy get let out to the pub? Or even for a cup of tea and a scone...

Sorry to hear your news but I know that this sometimes happens but in the long run it is for the best. When the section taken away is checked after the op they like to see a certain clearance . They are just making doubly sure so think of it as a belt and braces job. But still bugger, bugger , bugger for you.

Thinking of you BB....stay positive girl....same happened to me...first op didnt leave a big enough margin so second op then radiotherapy and chemo...mine was bowel cancer ...not sure what yours is PM me if you want to chat ....I have my 5year check early next year and everything is fine......

Thank you all, its not been a good weekend, went for our usual 2 mile daily walk yesterday then had to lie down on the couch and sleep for a while which isnt like me at all, think its just catching up on me! Bugger again.

Home a wee while ago, with a larger, sorer wound this time. Still got blood everywhere, OH doesnt want to look at it because of that. Will have to wash it down shortly. Well doped up at the moment.

Glad to hear you're safely home. I hope the wound is not too uncomfortable and that you've got painkillers to take if you need them.
Make the most of being doped up and have a good nights sleep if you can.

Sorry I havent posted the new update ladies.
Still a bit shaky after this op, it is also much more painful this time round. Surgeon says it is because he went in the same wound and had to cut muscle this time (dont know whether he removed some or just cut the muscle). There is much more bruising this time round too, its black! Having to take codine this time too when last time I got away with ibuprofen. Go back next Friday for the path results. Hopefully that will be it until I see the oncologist.

Had to go to the Dr's this afternoon as the wound got very itchy and inflamed. Turns out I am allergic to the dressing they put on it. Got some cream and have to go back tomorrow to see how it is.
