Day 188 Cravings......

Goodmorning

If you are craving food how do you distract yourself?

If i'm not at work, i will go and brush my teeth. The lovely clean feeling you get afterwards, puts you off eating.

If i am work i drink some water, or suck a mint.

I tried PMK's tips but did'nt do anything for me.

Well up until now I have just had to give in to them lol

But this is day two for me on taking some Herbalife products and you are allowed a small protein bar each day and so far I am managing to not give in to the daily cappuchino/cake lol

Re: Day 188 Cravings......

I have found coping with cravings hard too, as I have given up sweets. I used to eat about 4 boiled sweets a day. I used to eat them as an energy boost when pressurised at work. The pressure is still there but I have given up sweets. How did I manage this? Firstly expensive dental work and secondly visualising my teeth soaking in a sugar syrup and slowly rotting (which was exactly what was happening). I thought how stupid it was to be undergoing dental work and STILL eating sweets. Boiled sweets are the worst sweets for your teeth.

To stop myself eating something I shouldn't I just squeeze my spare tyre!! A wonderful deterrent and so accessible 24/7 !!

Good luck to everyone, but I can promise you that the cravings do get less!

Re: Day 188 Cravings......

Good morning everyone

fingers crossed, since starting with PMK, I haven't really had what I would call real cravings (well not yet). If I do feel like a snack of any kind, I ask myself if I am REALLY hungry and that usually works. Glass of water helps too.

Didn't get onto the forum at all yesterday and missed you all. Went for my tests in the morning, which wasn't as bad as I expected. The gastroscopy was horrible though, but compared to that the colonoscopy (which I'd been dreading even more) was a doddle - I think the sedation was working by then! Good news is that everything is normal (relief!) and they have taken a couple of biopsies which might show why I'm not absorbing iron. Still feeling quite washed out today, so I'm taking it easy. Thank you all for your positive messages on thursday - I know they helped.

On the Flabuless Forumers front - I dared to try on the chocolate chinos this morning, and got them on quite easily, although they do pull a bit at the top of my thunderthighs!! Also got into my Next jeans which make my legs look thinner (same thigh problem though). However if I wear them with long slim fitting tops .....!

Craving sunshine as it's pouring down here!

Have a good day everyone!

Re: Day 188 Cravings......

glad everything went ok yesterday Ally, I get cravings for white bread and I have to have some so how I get over this is not to have any in the house but then the SF is not very happy . I could eat bread all day with lots of butter and cheese and bread is something that I am always going to have in the house ,wish my craving was for choc or icecream I just would not buy them.
I have cut down big time on the bread and cheese but sometimes I slip today for instance I had a lovely lunch egg salad and a small pitta bread but there was a brie cheese and I just kept eating it wish I had read this post first and I KNOW I would not of eaten it.

Re: Day 188 Cravings......

Linby - if I need a chocolate fix I have Options hot chocolate. the only one I like is the Belgian Choc one - only 37 calories! Don't be too hard on yourself when you've had a bad day or two - tomorrow is another day!

SL - bread is always my downfall, so I try to keep away from it, but I always have toast for breakfast on Saturday and enjoy every mouthful.

Re: Day 188 Cravings......

I find cravings a problem too. I especially like a little something swet after a meal. I find the mini-ice creams are good - they saisfy that need and are not too high in calories as long as you stay clear of mini-magnums!!) You get a bit of chocolate too with most of them!

Otherwise I find a cup of tea or coffee helps, or some fruit. I love bread too. My solutions are
buy small loaves (relatively much dearer, but the slices are smaller) toast one slice at a time and eat it very ery slowly; eat oatcakes - fewer cals, and I don't put butter on them. I think that cutting out a staple like bread is really counterproductive. Sometimes I just tell myself that if I REALLY want bread, then I suppose I can have it (with the sort of attitude that my teenage d. has when I ask her to do something for me!) - it quite often puts me off!

Re: Day 188 Cravings......

Now look, folks, when I started reading this thread, I didn't have any cravings, but now I want bread and cheese and chocolate and I've gone and had some. I'm now sitting down with a cup of tea, having had a glass of water and am about to eat some cake. Stop it, stop, please don't mention any other food or I'll burst.
