fractured pelvis

I was thrown off a horse last Friday and fractured my pelvis(it was my first riding lesson in 25 years!!).At the moment I am on bedrest and its v painful to move- has anyone else done this? Not that I'd wish it on my worst enemy  and could anyone give me an idea of how long it'll be before I'm up and about- the hospital were really vague or was it the amount of drugs they'd given to me to numb the pain?!

Ouch! I can't help, I'm afraid, but I hope you're feeling better soon. It sounds really painful.

Poor you, that must be excrutiating?
Have never broken any thing, touch wood. But admire you for getting back on a horse, something I would luv to do.

that sounds horrible, only ever broke my ankle and that was bad enough.
My sympathies and hope you feel better soon.

Hi Bexytaylor and a BIG welcome...but oh you poor thing...cannot help re how long it'll take for you to be a whole lot more comfortable...but do rest and take it easy ( not that you can do a lot else at the mo...) just keep joining in here and we'll do our best to cheer you...

Thanks everyone- I think my family are just realising how much I do for them! Or rather how much I'm not doing now- perhaps it 'll do them some good- ?!!!! With three girls in the house you'd think there'd be no problem - not so - there was nearly a punch up in the utility room over emptying the dryer- perhaps i should draw up allocations of duties and a rota any suggestions- My girls are 16,12(tomorrow!) and 8 .My husband works long hours and is often away -as he is now (dont ask me to comment on that one or this'll become a rant)
p.s how do you clever ladies add those pictures etc on the end of your messages- I've got alot to learn about computers!!! but I am a wicked internet shopper!
