Sensitive Skin

Hello Ladies

Does anyone else suffer from sensitive skin ? I do particularly for some reason when I have come out of the bath ?!! I dont use any bubble bath or harsh soap so not sure why after I come out, my skin feels like I need to scratch it, it feels irritated, kind of itchy lol ! It never lasts long and my Nan actually told me she got that herself and had to rub a dry flannel over her when she got out of the bath to relieve the itchiness ! I even use a very delicate Llocitane body milk for sensitive skin !

Re: Sensitive Skin

I have this sometimes and I either bath with just a simple soap and afterwards use lots of Aqueous cream ( cheap from the chemist ) or best of all use a muslin bag filled with oatmeal - not porridge - but medium oatmeal. Tie it in a muslin bag and hold under the running water. Soak yourself and relax. Don't use any soap at all and you will come out soothed and soft.

Hope it works for you.

Re: Sensitive Skin

Oatmeal does the trick I agree, it soothes and stops the itching, not tried it myself, my MIL used to swear by it, worth a try

Re: Sensitive Skin

have you tried handmade soap?? Maybe a soap with soothing oils & butters?? Soap isn't harsh, but commercial soap has the glycerine removed (they sell it on) so isn't always the best for sensitive skin. Even L'Occ. may contain something that doesn't agree with you, have you checked the ingredients. I started making my own concoctions (I do love that word!) & soap when I was lying in the bath & wondered what that great long list was on my shampoo bottle, it was the ingredients!

Re: Sensitive Skin

Hi Sue - just read this and I'm like you very sensitive slin (in fact I'd say mines definitely dodgy!!!) I find good old Pears soap is ok for me and I always use E45 Lotion as a moisturiser every day on arms and legs and specially after the bath or shower. E45 cream for feet, hands and elbows.
Done this for years now and touch wood seems to suit my skni !

Re: Sensitive Skin

I have just logged myself onto the forum but I'd like to say have you tried drinking (yes drinking) Aloe Vera? My whole family has sensitive skin (thanks to my husband!) and we have all been drinking Aloe Vera (even the dog) and it helps lots, keeps the Ph balanced nicely. I know how to get some if you would like to try and it's a 60 day money back guarantee
