DAY 117 - HOW IS EVERYONE TODAY?

Hi Everyone - I don't really have anything in particular to say, but looked on the forum and saw that no-one had posted anything for today so thought I would! I hope you're all having a good day. I didn't make it to Southampton market this morning as planned - a bit disappointing as I had imagined myself coming back with all sorts of greenery and colourful fruits and veg. It'll have to be a Tescos shop instead. I'm trying very hard to eat as large a variety of fruit and veg as I can as it makes things so much more interesting.

Hope you are all managing to stick to the rules and that you have a good weekend. xx

Re: DAY 117 - HOW IS EVERYONE TODAY?

Hot! It's very grey and sticky here with no air moving. We had thunder first thing and a bit of rain but not enough to clear the air. I'm looking forward to getting home from work to cool off. Need to think of something to cook tonight but it will depend on what turns up in my veg box. I really enjoy getting home on a Friday to find my veg sitting under the carport. The veg always smells so good...

Re: DAY 117 - HOW IS EVERYONE TODAY?

Hi everyone, and thanks Alex for starting the daily post off.

SL I am so impressed that you did a kilometre before breakfast after last night's post re Baileys!

There's been a minor miracle here because for the last two days, Sella Vee, the woman who put the dent into sedentary, has been getting off her derriere and doing SOME EXERCISE!!!!! I dug out my Davina Power of 3 DVD, plugged in the DVD player, got changed into exerise gear, found a mat and a chair and some weights and some water, moved the ironing board to clear some space and thought - right that's enough exercise for one day!!

However, once I'd found the remote control and worked out how to get the flipping thing going I did my Warm Up, Upper Body, Abdominals and Cool Down. Pause for applause .....

I would have posted this yeaterday but unfortuately I have been unable to move since!!!

In the DVD Davina has had her hair makeup and false nails and fake tan done. She is also younger, thinner and fitter than me. She looks lovely and I'm there doing an impression of a lobster with a hernia.

I did some of it again yesterday, missing out Abdominals, and then thought I'd try my Strictky Come Dancercise. What a mistake - it's really hard to follow. I looked like a drunk dad at a wedding, so I think this afternoon it'll be Rosemary Conley's Slim and Salsacise. That's if I can get going because you could cut the air here with a knife it's so muggy. It soumds like it's the same with you Christina. At least when it's warm I don't feel like eating so much and I too need to get out and do some shopping.

Have a great day, Sella x

I'm really impressed SL - a kilometre! That's great.

Sella - laughed at your comments re. the exercise DVDs, but admire you for getting down to some exercise - here's some applause coming your way! What is the Slim and Salsacise DVD like?

What was in your vegbox, Christina?

xx

Re: DAY 117 - HOW IS EVERYONE TODAY?

Well done you Sella! I'm trying hard to think of a witty riposte to the dent in sendentary, but haven't managed it yet!

I'm trying to focus on my fruit and veg for a couple of days before I go away...so lots of cabbage, yesterday and today, and raspberries for lunch - I did indulge in some cream with them today, instead of yoghurt, which is what I have been having.

Have done lots of walking round town, doing last minute shopping with d for her holiday - and then retracing our steps to try to find the purse she left somewhere... (and tears as her holiday money was in it...guess who is going to have to fork out some more!) plus going to the Building Society to stop her account card and the police station, just in case. That feels like enough exercise - though at this minute, I'd love a swim! Not an energetic one, the sort where you float around in the sun. I envy you SL!

Re: DAY 117 - HOW IS EVERYONE TODAY?

Good afternoon girls, I was working last night and again tonight, so I have been sleeping. It was really foggy and cool when I came home this morning but it has brightened up.

I would love to have a market near by so I could by locally grown seasonal fruit and veg, and my own pool would be lovely, but I think I would use the ice scates more than the swimming costume, with the cold weather up here most of the time!

I feel fat today, I always do after a night shift, so tomorrow is going to be the same.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, dont blow it remember!!

Re: DAY 117 - HOW IS EVERYONE TODAY?

Alex, I like dancing and although I haven't done it for a while I find the Slim and Salsacise DVD easy to follow and it has different levels of workout. I used to use Rosemary C's aerobics videos years ago and I've found them quite straight forward and easy to follow. It's perhaps not as stylish and energetic as some but at least I can do it.

I'd heard reports that the Strictly Come Dancing one was difficult and it is. So far I've only watched Erin on Cha Cha, and even though I've done ballroom, latin and salsa lessons in the past and was familiar with the steps she doesn't break it down enough for me to follow through. Perhaps when I've watched it a bit more I'll catch on but I don't know how anyone who hasn't done dance would cope.

Valaber,I impressed myself when I thought up the dent in sedentary - it just popped into my head. Do you think I have a future as a gag writer? I sympathise with you over D losing her purse. You may be lucky at the police station, there are some honest folk out there. My middle son did the same thing with his wallet at Manchester airport when he was about 11; no cards but all of his holiday money. It never turned up. Same boy also left his wallet on a plane once but we did get that back eventually. We were coming home so there wasn't much in it. The best one was ES, who, left a CD carrier containing about 100 CDs in a phone box and didn't realise until he got home. We went straight back and found a note in the phone box saying "If you have left anything here call in a the shop opposite." He did, and got the whole lot back. We bought some chocolates for the lady who'd handed them in.

Mjm, you may feel fat but you don't look it, think of those skinny jeans .

Very good Sella! Have to admit, it took me a couple of minutes to work out why you were talking about Noddy paying the ransom, but the penny did eventually drop!!

Re: DAY 117 - HOW IS EVERYONE TODAY?

I've just got back from lunch and feel very good, would normally have had a dessert but I felt full after my sandwich and said NO. Have not done any exercise yet today but am planning a walk with D later when it cools down a bit. Found some PMK tapes on ebay, won the bid so should be able to join in properly very soon.

Re: DAY 117 - HOW IS EVERYONE TODAY?

Well I've got a good selection in the veg box this week so plenty of healthy meals - peppers, tomatoes, salad greens plus some lots of fruit including redcurrants and this seasons first plums. It was too hot tonight for anything more than a small salad and a mini galaxy choc ice (two bites and it's gone) so there are advantages to the weather. I'm looking forward to the weekend as food decisions are always easier - more time and not having to sort out packed lunches.

Lorca, you'll be surprised how much sense the things PMK says make and how easy it can be to follow the rules (and if you slip occasionally, as I do, it's simple to get back on track).
