Recent research has shown that fruit, especially purple grapes and apples (and juices made from them) eally does protect the arteries from clogging upp and help prevent heart disease. Hi Val, am feeling fruity today so will take your advice onboard. Usually i do try and have a fruit salad with at least 5 different colours of fruits. I was chatting to one of our dieticians at work and she said you get maximum benefits from lots of colours. I now have raspberries,red, blackberries, black, green grapes, blueberries and oranges in my salad, topped with a vanilla fat free yoghurt. I try and have that once a day, usually for breakfast. I try and do the same with my salad for lunch, different coloured peppers etc. Before I started the flabulous forumers, i would never have been eating such a healthy diet, now i cannot imagine going back to my former way of eating. I never get heartburn or indigestion now, my skin is clearer and I just feel so much better. Well done for posting the fruity message, it makes you think of just how much we have all changed for the better. Have a lovely weekend everybody, here in Cornwall we have force 7-8 winds, driving rain and its really nasty. Not a day to go out so I plan to attack the wardrobe and see what else i have that I can now fit into. xx |

Thanks for that valaber. Don't you think that a salad made of lots of different coloured fruits (or vegetables)is lovely to look at as well as being good for you. A bowl of colourful salad looks so beautiful - it all adds to the pleasure of eating it. Your mention of heartburn, honeybunny, reminds me that since I have been eating more sensibly I haven't had heartburn at all - and I used to suffer from that all the time. |

Good afternoon Val, Girls, Before I started doing this, I remeber moaning to someone on the forum, about not eating fruit, just letting it rot in the fruit bowl, I would always look for some other junk food to get that fast sugar fix. But now things are totally different, I shop each week, and have run out of the fruit before I go again. I love fresh pineapples and mangoes. I usually buy green grapes tho, so thanks for the tip Val, I will get the red ones instead. I always get berry fruit juices like blueberry and raspberry and cranberry. Your so right honey, we have come so far, and what a healthy bunch we are now. |

Hi Guys Yep whole family consume vast quantities of fruit, I believe you are right and like your thinking of having something sweet and fresh to replace the craving. I did have strawberries in my meringue honest. Its the veggies that we are not huge on unfortunately, as we tend to stick to what we like, and my children are not into salad, so dont eat as much as we should, |

This is another tip to concider girls when it comes to eating fruit: Fruit must always be eaten on its own, at least 30 minutes away from other foods. Its better to eat fruit on an empty stomache, preferably in the morning with no other food types. If you eat fruit after a meal, it cant go anywhere, because its stuck behind foods that takes much longer to digest, so it will ferment in the gut. when fruit is indeed mixed with other foods, you can expect bloating. flactulence, indigestion. NEVER mix melons with other fruits. Melons digest the quickest of all fruits, therefore, eat alone or leave alone!! |

slice onions thinly in rings slice lemons thinly in rings add olive oil parsley a a little bit of sugar put in freezer for an hour take out an leave for 15 mins delicious |

Yes its true Val, you can eat fruit when you want, but dont be surprised then, when you feel bloated and windy. Its the same as salads as well, The Americans have the right idea of eating their salads before the main course, for the same reasons. |
