Re: hot flushes

Lucky you!! I'm 48 and and have been having hot flushes for ages! I've found Menopace works quite well but the best answer is no wine! Tough but it really makes a difference! Good luck! :

Re: hot flushes

I've also just come off HRT after 9 years ( hysterectectomy 20years ago) and started hot flushes at night. A friend who is a retired Nutritionist recommends a natural Progesterone cream called Progestacare which you rub on daily, so by-passing the liver. I think it is starting to work but now the weather is so hot anyway it's hard to tell!!
If you want to know more I can give you details as it's not available in this country but has to come in from Alaska or some such!

Re: hot flushes

i started the menopause in my late forties and have not had bad hot flushes although lately, i am now 52, have had more symptoms of depressed days, anxiety, and general hot flushes. I was told by someone to try a combination of vitamins in one bottle and they are called flash fighters and u get them from Holland and Barratt - they seem to work for me. I hope u don't suffer too much with them as they are horrible and I carry a fan with me to restaurants!

Re: hot flushes

On a previous post ladies were saying that they find the magnets work well for stopping hot flushes - sorry I can't remember what they're called.

Re: hot flushes

Hi,I use Menopace Plus. It must be the 'Plus' pack as the second tablet contains sage extract which is supposed to stop the flushes. All I can say is it seems to work for me. I buy mine in Tesco or Boots the Chemist. Good luck, they are pricey but worth a try.

Re: hot flushes

Hi girls,
The magnet thing is called Ladycare Magnopulse. If you have time check out lucybee's thread re. menopause (I think its on P2) someone mentioned the website. I actually ordered one after reading the posts...I've only been wearing it for almost a week so still not sure if its having any effect.....maybe its too early to tell! Good luck. I can sympathise with you!!!
Shanti

Re: hot flushes

Flash Fighters by Holland and Barrett was rated highly for quality and value for money on www.supplementscompared.com as was Estro Balance for Menopause by Holland and Barrett and Menopace by Vitabiotics.

This site also recommends taking either a combination product (like the above) or alternatively taking one high potency supplement such as black cohosh or isoflavones with a good multivitamin. This site may help point you in the right direction and let you know what quantities/measurements you should be looking for if the products are to be effective. Hope this helps x

Re: hot flushes

Hi Girls, following on from the LadyCare posts, I have been suffering a variety of symptoms from when my menopause started a year ago. As I am only 47 I thought it a bit early to start HRT but I'ts driving me up the wall!!!

So for £20 I thought its worth a try - anyone following the bloating posts will know that although I have only been using it since Sunday (costantly mind you) I can report that the tummy pain I have been suffering with my bouts of bloating has all but gone. Dont know if this particular condition is to do with the menopause as Ive had it on and off for 30 years but it seems to be working!

I'll let you know if anything else disappears (please let it be the sleepless nights!!)

Re: hot flushes

Hello everyone. I haven't written many (any?) posts, don't often have time to spend on here. But I browse every so often and there seem to be loads of new people now ...
Anyway, hot flushes ... I think I've had them about 4 years now, maybe longer, it feels like forever! I didn't go for HRT, thought I'd take the 'natural' route. Too late to worry about whether that was a wrong or right decision, but I've got through it all. I usually use homeopathy anyway. I have had mixed success over the years, some very good times, but also some very stressed times! Lack of sleep and the rest. Anyway, menopause well and truly over - except for the hot flushes. So I'm interested in the magno pulse - I'll maybe try it. Does it deal with other symptoms?

Re: hot flushes

Hi, I can recommend pulsatilla from either Nelsons homeopathic range or boots now do their own. I was very ill post hysterectomy at age of 38 and was unable to start on HRT post operatively.I fell straight into a terrible menopause and my hot flushes consisted of 15 t-shirt changes a night and you could have rung them out too! No fun at all.
My sister researched it for me and pulsatilla was my saving grace and i can't recommend it enough.
Many of my friends are now taking it and think like me it is the best of the homeopathic treatments.
Give it a try you can get 7C or 30 C, go for the 30c and follow the directions. You then carry them round with you and the minute you feel a flush starting you pop two under your tongue and it stops the flush straight away.
Hope this is of some help. PM if you want to know anymore.
Sarah
