Good morning girls, its beautiful here again today, I will be going for my walk once Ive chatted to you. It was great reading everyones feed back yesterday, it really does feel like we are changing our ways doesnt it. It seems that our biggest challenge is eating ssssssllllllooooowwwwwwwwllllllllyyyyyyyyy, so has enyone got any tips and suggestions for us, have anyone mastered this art?? Anyway back to emotional eating, Do you think you are an emotional eater? Ask yourself what you are feeling right now?, Take 10 seconds or so to scan your body from head down to your tummy, what ever sensation you notice stay with it for at least 10 seconds. Have you noticed if your sensation is beggining to change? When you allow yourself to feel your feelings in your body instead of cutting them off straight away, or trying to cover them with food, those felling sensations will begin to change. Before you start to snack, ask yourself if you are really hungry, if you are not, then DONT eat, you are more likely to be bored or upset, lonely perhaps, It doesnt matter how much you eat, the feelings will still be there, so food is not the answer. A beautiful day here. Out with the dogs for half an hour around 6am as usual and it was glorious! First really summery morning. I'm hoping to get out lunchtime just to sit in the sun for a few minutes - Glastonbury Abbey is just a few minutes walk away and lovely this time of year (problem is that means I'll be dragging myself away from the forum). Asking myself if I'm really hungry does seem to help me to avoid snacking - if my answer is that I'm not sure I try to put off the snack for a few more minutes, have a glass of water, and see if I'm still interested in the snack. Most of the time it works (although a piece of cheese and a share in a bottle of ice cold cider last night won out - I can take or leave choc but cheese is another matter). |

The weather has been absolutely beautiful, life has been very socialable and hectic, PMT mega, exercising non-existant and have totally lost the plot! I know where I went wrong, I haven't drunk enough water, eaten regular or slowly enough. I have not done any exercise, or logged into the forum and sought support from my flabuless friends and to top it all I have not listened to the cd. I will get back on track today and re-focus on the rules. Good to hear all the excellent feedback! |

beautiful here today family arrived from france but baby Adam up all night with a temprature nobody got any sleep Yahnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn, He is much better today , If I get 10 seconds I will try this exercice not promising anything !!!!!!!! |

Thanks mjm for the pm, have now found what I was looking for, order the book and cd and am raring to go. The weather over here in Germany in fantastic right now and supposed to stay like that all week, so I can cycle to work if I feel up to it, going to the gym after work today and looking forward to sittin out on my new deck in the garden with a glass of something chilled. I have been a great emotional eater. I eat when I'm happy and I eat when I'm sad, bored, tired, grumpy and fed up. But since starting this I have been having more of those little chats with myself - you know "Am I really hungry?". I am definitely eating on fewer occasions, but geting some rather strange looks. |

Thanks again mjm - have had a pretty good day food-wise. I realised this morning how much more energy I have - I actually enjoyed the exercise bike this morning! And despite having had a very tiring and rather trying day, I have not snacked to compensate. however, I am feeling quite hungry now, so once I've fetched my d. from her youth club (the penalty of rural living is running a domestic taxi service) I will think of something healthy but filling to eat. Hope you've had a good day everyone, and that you've managed to get back on track Bally67 - we all have bad times...just move on (briskly, to burn off some calories!) |

Hi mjm, a tip on eating sssssllllllooooowwwwlllyyyyy by my WW leader. This can only be done when you are on your own but here goes. Sit in front of a mirror and watch yourself eat, if that doesn't slow you down nothing will. |

Hi girls, sorry I haven't checked in much recently, life is just so busy. Things are going OK, I definately am much more in control, and I feel I am able to wait until later if I am not that hungry. I definately listen to the signals from my body, and don't just eat because I think I ought too. If I'm not hungry at lunchtime I wait until a little while later. My cravings are a lot less as well, but I do notice that if I haven't listened to the CD for a while they start to re-surface. Keep going everyone, you are all doing so well. Hugs Lisa. xxx |
