What to do with redcurrants

My neighbour has given me some lovely redcurrants I would like to make them into something lovely to freeze or freeze them for later. Any tips or recipes appreciated as I've never used them before. Thanks Cia

Have you topped and tailed them - took the stems and dried up flowers off. If you want to freeze them for later, flash freeze so that you can store them in a big bag and just pour out as many as you want at a time. I would use them like blackcurrants but with out as much sugar as they are usually sweeter. I can eat them raw but wouldn't eat blackcurrants without sugar.

There's always the old standby - jam. Made about 20 jars of it a couple of weeks ago.

PS think you've probably solved the problem by now

How about using them to make compote?

I love raspberry and redcurrant jam! That's what I'd make.
