Don't you get sick of the same old things. I know I do, and have four lots to make each day. New suggestions needed please. Lovely Lady |

This is agony for me as I haven't been able to bite into a sandwich since I started this rotten dental implant process last October. However, I love avocado in sandwiches - with chicken or salmon or tuna or.......anything really! I like rocket leaves instead of bog standard lettuce, too. And chopped up sundried tomatoes. Oh, I reeeeeeeally want a sarnie now! |

What about doing wraps instead? Spread some cream cheese and then ham, chicken, salmon or whatever you fancy-even that's a bit of a change from normal bread! Or pitta stufed with lettuce and chicken which has been cooked in a spicy or tangy sauce? |

Yes, Good idea Beau. Perhaps it's the bread not the filling that needs changing. You can get more varieties of bread than sarnie these days so ring the changes there. |

Hi Lovely Lady, Gill, and Beau, I prefer the idea of open sandwiches, more like the Scandanavian style of eating, with smoked salmon, and cream cheese, or meybe pickled cucumber and smoke pork, yummy, all served on lovely rye bread. Plasmo x |

I had to help recently with making sandwiches for an event and a couple of ideas which I hadn't really heard of before was grated carrot, mayonaise and grated cheese - it was really nice. Another was Philadelphia cheese and grapes. An unusual one but I personally don't like it is Mars Bar sandwiches. |

Must confess, I sometimes browse the sandwich section in M&S, or our local sandwich bar to get ideas. Brie and bacon in a baguette, then blitzed in the microwave for 30 seconds is always popular. I tend to save that for special occasions - like when I want OH to do something ..wispa |

I know it is only a version of egg sandwiches but I scamble them then mix with salad cream and blitz with a hand blender, they stay in the bread better and do taste different. Suziedee |

I agree M&S do some very nice ones you can replicate. I like hummus with grated carrot. Love sun dried tommies with mozarella and basil. Also cheese with grated apple. Oh, now I am really hungry!!! Ask a student for ideas ......... (or perhaps not) - my YS told me that he had some things in the fridge he needed to use up so he cooked the pork chop in a curry sauce and then put it in a wrap - said it was delicious!!!! |
