Pears in wine...freeze or not to freeze

have had a twiddling attack today, and have cleaned out fridge, and thereīs this bowl of pears cooked in red wine, leftovers from tuesday (twelfth day of christmas) and itīs still ok, but quite a lot, even more than I can scoff in one go, so I thought..freezer? or will they just go mushy when thawing?
Anyone had any experience?. or I could just toss them in the freezer and then forget about them until itīs time to defrost and clean the freezer..............not a big worry really, just never heard of freezing pears....maybe itīs worth a go...could have mushy pears with icecream sometimes in the spring?????
