CHRISTMAS CAKE .....CAN YOU FREEZE IT?

I am sure I have read somewhere that you can freeze Christmas Cake ....has anyone done this and does it work? Thanks Ladies!

Splash why do you want to freeze Christmas cake? If its made with butter it should keep well for at least 6 months. My freezer book says 'no need to freeze rich fruit cakes as they store for a long time in tins'. Hope that helps.

Splash, A friend of mine has had some of her Fruit Wedding cake in the freezer for 15 years!

you can freeze but take off icing/marzipan first, will keep for ages in airtight container, we forgot ours one year and ate it in july!! This is my first entry so hi to everyone out there.
