Ladies - how do you take your tea???

I have abandoned tea bags and am using a wire strainer-thingy in which I put one teaspoon of Sainsbury 'Taste the Diff'

Jasmine fine tea, and I quote 'fine china tea and Jasmine flowers create this delicate floral blend'

Mummmmmmm - I really recommend it . Very refreshing and uplifting

What is your favourite - any recommendations?

Happy drinking

Re: Ladies - how do you take your tea???

Was given some loose tea but oh boy, what a faff and what a mess the sink got when I tried washing the teapot. Even went out and bought a strainer. Tried just putting the strainer over the mug with tea in and then putting straight in the bin but still a bit of a pain. So back to good old teabags. Must be piping hot for me. OH leaves his to go cold - yuck.

Re: Ladies - how do you take your tea???

I'm a decaffeinated Earl Grey teabag girl myself, I take it very weak and with No milk and no sugar.
I gave up caffeine and milk (except for on my cereal) when I was wrongly diagnosed with IBS, which I didn't realise at the time ofcourse, so I was watching what I ate.

Re: Ladies - how do you take your tea???

Yorkshire Tea in a teapot first thing every single morning! Have several mugs, and then I am fully awake and ready to face the day/world! NO milk and NO sugar!!! Cannot stand the smell of milk and sugar in tea...... and let's not go down the taste route.... YUCK!!!! Then later in the morning a mug (at most 2) of coffee. From thereon it is herbal teas..... and having a herbal tea now before going beddie-byes

Re: Ladies - how do you take your tea???

Rarely drink tea, prefer coffee, but on the odd occasion I do, it HAS to be in a china cup, preferably with homemade cake, served from a tea tray, with a traycloth, on, with silver cake forks. And, if that can be in the garden on a sunny afternoon, lovely!

Hi ejane & all

I do love a nice brew. I mainly drink coffee, but when it's tea I'm afraid Im not very posh! Tetly tea, made in the mug with ss milk and 1 sweetner.

yours sounds very posh ejane!!! Hope I get invited to your house for tea one day lol

Re: Ladies - how do you take your tea???

Hi Ejane

I'm certainly not refined when it comes to tea - gave up using a teapot years ago and now make it in a mug with a tea-bag and milk, but no sugar. I have no particular favourite - tend to vary what I buy between PG, Yorkshire Tea and the Twinings one in the yellow box

Occasionally I'll have an Earl Grey - no milk and sometimes with a slice of lemon.

I drink several cups of green tea a day - the most expensive I can afford - always served in one of the cups my daughter brought home with her from Japan.

Hi Bluebell - don't get me started on that "who'd like to come to Wimbledon" thing. Still in therapy to get over the rejection issues that sprang up last time I put out an invitation !

Re: Ladies - how do you take your tea???

Always use teabags; never have found the perfect one but Yorkshire Tea is usually a fallback. Always always make it in a pot, never in a cup. Like it fairly strong with skimmed milk - not too much.

Enjoy several cups first thing in the morning, especially at weekends. Thereafter I only drink herbal tea (usually peppermint) or very weak green tea during the day.

Only usually drink coffee after a dinner out, but have recently started drinking the occasional black coffee.

Night time is wine or vodka time! Or water..... I very rarely have hot drinks in the evening.

hi ejane,

i love my tea hot and strong with a dash of skimmed milk. I particular like Assam tea, but usually make do with Tetleys or PG tips. Brandyqueen xx

Good and strong in a china mug with not too much milk (skimmed). Love Yorkshire tea and recently discovered Miles tea in the West Country, which is also pretty good.

A rare treat in a proper bone china teapot & cup with a bit of earl grey. yum.
