Help tasty dessert idea needed
|
|
I am having quite a few people round to watch the football champions league final and have to prepare some food. Have decied to do a chilli and a thai curry, followed by a dessert recipe for a lemon crunch given to me by susiblue. As the numbers coming keep growing I might end up catering for 20 plus people, so I need to make another. Does anyone have any ideas for something I could make, that's not too time consuming or fiddly.

How about a mango and coconut tart? Just put sliced (fresh) mango onto a precooked pastry case and top with a can of coconut milk thickened with arrowroot. If you have them, chuck in a few star anise while the coconut milk heats.
Or buy a ready made cheesecake ... sounds like you've enough on your plate without adding yet another dish. Sit down with a glass of wine and a book instead!

Hi txp, they sell the condensed milk already as toffe now so you dont have to boil it up. YUMMY.

If I do my lemon crunch in an 11" tin, then it should do 16.
Strawberry tiramasu also goes down well, made with mascarpone, run, sponge fingers strawberries and amaretto biscuits if you like them but I used ginger biscuits instead. This can be made in advance and just sit in the fridge. If you want the recipe let me know.

Hi Dizee What about a vanilla new york cheesecake from asda extra special range (3.29p) decorate with some rasps and mint leaves and dust with icing sugar (serves 6) serve with a rasp couli or cream. A fresh fruit salad with rasps, strawberries blueberries and black grapes in a sugar syrup served with cream or ice cream or just a bowl of fresh fruit and a cheese board.

if you have 30 people coming i wouldn't do anything that involves plates and spoons or forks !! get an assortment of small cakes from m & s or asda. No washing up !!!
