Smoothies.

Hi all,

DD has resurrected and dusted down the smoothie maker
that was buried at the back of the kitchen cupboard

Have lots of fruit and was going to throw it in and
hope for the best

Have a booklet with 2 recipes and they mention
frozen yogurt.
Have looked in supermarkets and cannot find it?

Can I just throw natural yogurt into the freezer and
do it this way or does anyone know if it is actually
a product that supermarkets stock

One bit of sunshine and we go mad here

If anyone has any nice recipes I would be so grateful

Re: Smoothies.

I don't know about frozen youghurt but I have used low fat yoghurts in mine and has always turned out OK. Plenty of berries around now and very ripe banans with a bit of honey goes down well. My 13 yr old daughter makes it and it is a good way of getting her to have milk through the youghurt or with a bit of semi skimmed milk added.
Yes the weather is gorgeous and just right for cold drinks and a bit of BBQ.

Re: Smoothies.

Just google "frozen yoghurt recipe" and you'll find lots ... here's one

I have a smoothie for brekkie most days .... dried fruit are lovely in them .... especially if they are very moist ... if they are a bit old and hard though, try soaking them in apple or orange juice (or even water) overnight, then add to your smoothie.

Buy up any reduced soft fruits from the supermarket/farmers' market and freeze ... perfect for smoothies ... especially blueberries.

Thanks for the feedback, Marylou, Ladywillow and Jane

The links look brilliant.

Ladywillow, I was trying so hard not to water at the mouth at the sight of that chocolate cake on the link you posted
I must keep to smoothies!!!

Thank you nightingale.

I love cake! I made this one for my hubbie on Valentine's day (I helped him eat it because I'm thoughtful like that!!)

Re: Smoothies.

LadyWillow you have me drooling

It looks amazing. Is it a coffee cake?

Do you have a recipe to share - or maybe not

I'm losing the will to be good here -
hungrily making my way to the kitchen goodie jar
(cos we have no cake)

Re: Smoothies.

It was chocolate cake with cherry filling and chocolate buttercream.

I can give you the recipe ... but it's vegan. Let me know if you still want it!
