Replying to another post made me think am I the only one saddled with a moaning husband . He can moan long and loud about just about anything dont get me wrong I do not put up with it I tell him to shut up. but some times if I am not feeling up to it I feel as if all my vitality is being drained , I think what makes it worse is that we really do not have friends so 95% of our time is spent with each other . When I can keep his moaning down to a minimum I think we are happy together but I do not think he realizes how his incessant winging impacts on our whole life together . are there any other ladies out there in forum land with a victore meldrew or am I the only one lol.

Hi Chris, Just signed up today. Sounds like a very dull and moaning husband. I must have the laziest man on earth living with me. (He is still in bed now) What can we do ? Judy |

I know someone who has had exactly the same problem. She persuaded him to go to the doctor and it turned out that he was suffering from depression, not easy to spot because he was always a curmudgeonly character. A little medication has completely changed him for the better - the only problem my friend has is, what happens when he stops taking the tablets? People who moan a lot are not always aware that they are upsetting anyone because the people around them tread carefully and often try to say light-hearted things to keep the atmosphere from descending. Good luck and maybe speak to your GP about this. I am sure it is affecting you as badly as it did my friend. |

Hi Chris Issi is right get him down to the doctors and have him MOT'd, my Dad was fairly similar, it turned out that he has high blood pressure, he still has his days as he was bad tempered and a moaner when I was very young, so it's part of his charecter, but it has deffinately improved since he got is blood pressure under control. Judy welcome to the forum |

Hi Chris No you are not the only one. My OH can winge for Team GB and win lots and lots of Gold Medals for it. The only other person I have ever met in my life who complained as much was his Father. On refelction his siblings are no better either. Drop me a PM and we can support each other in this, we seem to have a lot in common. Happy thoughts Ladylou |

Oh girls, you have my sympathies. Why don't you record the moaners in secret and then play it back to them later. Maybe once they hear how bad they sound they'll do something about it? ![]() Perry, do you have an extra pillow? There are measures you can take if he keeps the moaning up in his sleep.

My OH has moaned ever since I met him. He is a real pessamist. I thought he would change after we were married for a while, I thought I could make him happy. Turns out he has had a chronic illness for years. This has only recently been diagnosed and although I don't think the moaning has stopped, I don't take it to heart as much. |

One of the first things that attracted me to my OH was his positive attitude. He used to cheer on the virtues of always looking on the bright side of things. We've been together for over 20 years now & gradually over the last 4 or so years he's become so much more of a pessimist, very easily angered, intolerant, impatient & a moaner. But he has also found out he has high blood pressure - & it is so obvious that he is worse when he's having his medication altered or the brand changed. Perhaps a health check could rule out any possible underlying factors. |

You have my sympathies with your moany husbands ladies. Having lived for 20 years with a father who never said a good word about anybody or anything I vowed that I wouldn't marry a moaner - so I didn't! I just know I couldn't put up with it. Having said that, I can be a proper old moaner (hormones I think) - my H won't tolorate it though which is just as well.

My husband is a moaner big time i put up with it for so long and we have a clear the air moment when i tell him what i think of his behavour then i write him a letter telling him how it drags me down, he bucks up for a while but gradually slips again and needs another little note. hard work but we have been married for 34 years so im sort of used to his ways. stella |
