Random Acts of Heroic Love

I'm sure this book has probably already been discussed on the forum but it may have been before I joined.
Just finished reading it and wasn't sure that I really enjoyed it.
I thought that it should have been two seperate books as the two tales were really good in their own right. It felt as though he'd struggled to find a way to tie the two stories together and settled for the link that he came up with.

Re: Random Acts of Heroic Love

I read this too and thought it was one of the best books I have read in a long time. I emailed Daniel Scheinman the author and he emailed me back. I was interested in how true the ending really was and he sent me a lovely email back which was great (I often email authors when I enjoy a book - some reply some dont). I did pass the book onto my sister and she wasnt sure about it either, so everyone to their own, but I just thought it was so gritty yet sensitive and touching, and I couldnt put it down.

Re: Random Acts of Heroic Love

I just finished this a couple of weeks ago, and was also interested in how true to fact it is. It is based on his grandfather's true story. What did he say to you in the email? I'm dying to know if you feel like sharing it with us!

I read this book and enjoyed it immensely.I thought he created really believable characters and told two wonderful stories. Despite the tragic outcome it left me feeling very positive.

I would be interested in knowing what he said about the story also if you could pm me I would be grateful

Re: Random Acts of Heroic Love

This is exactly how I felt juliejug - I had to finish it but was left feeling -oh is that it? It was a book we discussed at book group and most people felt like me although a couple really enjoyed it.
We felt that the title was apt as there were quite a few acts of heroic love throughout the book.

Re: Random Acts of Heroic Love

I have just finished reading this book, not my usual choice, but I really enjoyed this book. I loved the end, I will not spoil it for others who have never read it. I would recommend it to others.

Really good book. A bit different, having the two separate stories, but very enjoyable.
