Book club in Winchester

I am keen to join a book club I live in Winchester and wondered if anyone knew of a book club with space for a new member. I would also be happy to try and set up a new book club if there was anyone else out there who fancied giving it a go.

Hi Anna33. I live in Winchester too and would love to join a book club. I couldn't find one already set up on this forum in Winchester so I don't mind setting up one up with you? I'm new to this website and don't really know my way around it yet, or how to set up a book club!!

That sounds great I'm new to the forum too and not sure exactly how to go about setting up a book club as I've never done it before but I think all we need to do is get a few people together and kick it off by meeting up in winchester somewhere (maybe a local pub) to say hello and choose a book. Then I think the idea is to meet up say once a month to chat about the book we've read I don't think it needs to be too structured I guess some books will stimulate more discussion than others. Do you know anyone else who would be interested in coming along? I have another friend who would I think would be keen. If you're interested I can private message you with my mobile number or personal e-mail so that we can sort out a first meeting perhaps sometime in October.

Private message me? I don't know how to do that! Yes by all means do so. Meeting up in a pub would be great. There may be a couple of friends I know that may be interested so I'll ask them this week.
