a short history of tractors in ucranian
|
|
this book, is not really about tractors, itīs about two sisters who never had great contact with each other, coming together in a joined mission : to get rid of their 84 year old fatherīs new wife, a 36 year old bleached voloptous ucranian femme fatale.( and their family history is unravelled in the proceedings) itīs hilarious, funny and also serious in places, and a light read for anyone interested.

Two Caravans by the same author is also a great read - a rather different view of Eastern European immigrants working in the UK. Sad, funny and thought provoking.

I loved this book - it reminded me so much of my father who in hais later years was constantly looking for a lady "to come and live with me"... I thought it was brilliant!

I thought 'Tractors' was brilliant too. I haven't yet read Two Caravans, but will look out for it.
