Hi I'd like to start a walking club in the Ayrshire region. I live in South Ayrshire and would be happy to discuss routes / lengths etc. Ideally I'd be looking at a couple of hours walking with a few longer ones with the prize of a coffee somewhere in the walk but open to suggestions! Sheena |

Hi Just spotted your post and I would be interested in a walking club. I live in Ayr but own a car so travelling is no problem. I love walking around this area and would love some company! PS my name is Sheena too |

Hi I live in North Ayrshire but have a car so travelling is no hardship. Have walked quite a lot in Galloway forest park and climbed the Merrick but that was a few years ago and don't think I would like to do it again. More into walking round Lochs and Forests now. Is that what you mean or more hill walking? Have just started this forum so all this is new to me. Unfortunately my name is not Sheena although I do have a friend with that name....does that count?? My name is Anne and I am in my mid fifties so I could possible be an old git I'm not sure...depends on your age. PS The prize of a coffee sounds great to me! One simply must plan one's route round an excellent coffee shop...or whats the point?

Hi I just spotted this post and as I live in Ayr and enjoy walking, replying to this seemed like a great idea, especially if there is a chance of a nice cup of coffee somewhere along the line. Funnily enough my name isn't Sheena either but it is Ann so that's a good start I suppose. I'm not sure if this will reach any of the posters as I see that the original posts are quite old. I think I might be an old git too but I'm a nice old git ![]() Hope to hear from someone even if your name isn't Sheena or Ann(e). Ann |

Hi Really sorry its taken so long to get back to you both!! I've been using my daughters computer while I wait until I get mine set up at home and between unforeseen family things and the lack of computer access (she lives in Aberdeen) I've not checked this site in ages. Would still really like to get out and about. I'm definitely an old git (at a spritely 65) but lots of years left in me and still a spring in my step! I mostly do walks in and around Ayr or out in places like Culzean or Auchincruive but more than open to suggestion- especially with a coffee and scone somewhere along the line! Not sure how this is meant to work but if either of you are still interested then please send a post and let me know your direct email address (not sure how else to contact each other - not used to this so all suggestions gratefully received!) and we can hopefully meet up. I know a few Annes already so I think that counts! Regards Sheena |
