What are you reading in bed tonight?

I am still reading 'Looking Up' by Tim Rushby-Smith.

A true story about spinal cord injury and SO inspirational.

i am not reading much at the moment but as i have just mentioned in a PM to Happytigger there is a book never far from my bedside called 'the power of the subconcious mind' although I could do with a good novel being recommended too.

The last two chapters of 'Fred and Rose West'

It has answered a few queries in my life, and once finished,I can close the door on it completely, after many many years of wondering!?

Re: What are you reading in bed tonight?

Was reading Paul O'Grady.

Stopped to read the new Maeve Binchy, but will go back to it.

Dipping in and out of Don Camillo.

Marcus Aurelius is a permanent fixture, as is Herman Wouk "This is my God"

'All he ever Wanted' by Anita Shreve.
I'm working through all her books and only have a couple to go.
Barney,
I love Penelope Lively. Road to Lichfield and passing On are my favs.

To those who want a novel recommended, try anything by Sue Gee.

Re: What are you reading in bed tonight?

I'm reading the new Victoria Hislop 'The Return', which I am not enjoying nearly as much as her first one 'The Island'. I really loved that book!

Re: What are you reading in bed tonight?

I am reading Manda Scott's book about Boudica (dreaming the eagle) it is the first of a trilogy, I love reading about strong women whether from the past or current. I agree with ExpatK I really enjoyed reading The Island. Did not want it to end!! Always the good sign of a book. Just read Sheila Hancock's book on her life with John Thaw - The two of us. Looking forward to reading her new book about her life after John.

Two good books to read The book Thief and Shadow of the wind - really get your teeth into books.

Re: What are you reading in bed tonight?

That's interesting ExpatK - I've been waiting for that to come out in paperback, I really enjoyed The Island and was hoping her new one would be as good.
I will probably get it anyway!
At the moment by my bed is Alan Bennett's Untold Stories - very good. And next on the list is the 3rd in Paullina Simons trilogy - The Summer Garden. The first 2 were brilliant, I am looking forward to finding out more about Tatiana and Alexander!

Onceshy

I have just finished reading Sally Morgans Psychic Life, she left a lot of questions un answered and I was a bit disappointed in it.

Re: What are you reading in bed tonight?

Dawn French's "Dear Fatty" - which is written in the form of letters to the various people in her life. Don't like the format as it doesnt read like a story but i've just started it so we've see what happens. For a great fiction read - Tess Gerritsen's "The Bone Garden". I couldnt put it down!

Re: What are you reading in bed tonight?

Dreaming of the bones by Deborah Crombie, just recently got into her books and so enjoying them.
Expat, your comment about The Return is interesting as it took me a while to get into it but found I could not put it down once I got my head round it. I agree though not as good as The Island.
