It's Strictly your fault

Well I must admit I had not watched this prog before, watching it this evening cos I kept reading about it on the forum, but it is fascinating isn't it? Oh to be that graceful going around a dance floor. How many of you can dance a waltz, tango or jive?

Re: It's Strictly your fault

OH and I went to ballroom dancing classes. We have friends who dance to competition level, and they organised classes for a group of us.

I loved it! OH hated it! Really hated it. Not just don't like, or not my cup of tea, but really unhappy. If he had been so-so about it, I would have insisted we carried on, but he was just gritting his teeth and I knew he was miserable. It was a hard choice, he was doing it for me, I knew by keeping going it was hell for him. So we gave up

Re: It's Strictly your fault

Hi Whitley Bay and Wispa,

I love dancing, and really regret not learning how to dance properly. MOH have talked about going to classes but I dont really think he is that keen.

When I was a child I did tap and ballet, but not too any exam level. I started to learn tap years ago, but didnt go to the classes for very long - we moved, and have been thinking of trying to find somewhere again.

I wasnt surprised Gary was voted out, poor man he tried so hard but he was so stiff and couldnt seem to relax, I think Mark was lucky to stay, but against Gary there was no real competition.

The show is definitely addictive, but apart from that I really enjoy the beautiful dresses, and think the designer on the show is amazing.

I used to do Ballroom/Latin classes as a child. Joined a class a few years ago and finally persuaded OH to give it a try. He was hopeless poor love, no rhythm, so we didnt continue after the first term. I loved it though. I'd love to wear some of the gorgeous dresses they wear on Strictly, all those sequins and sparkle, Glitterqueen heaven

Re: It's Strictly your fault

OH and I went to Ballroom classes years ago (while we were at university) so that we'd be able to dance at our own wedding. I thought he was pretty good, but when I persuaded him to go to Salsa classes with me a few years ago he gave up after a couple of weeks. Do you think, with men, if they don't get it right straight away, they pack it in?

Not only is the show addictive, but the dresses are gorgeous, and everyone seems to lose lots of weight while they are training.

Watching Austin Healey this weekend made me come over all peculiar LOL!

In my defence I literally watch nothing else.

I was taught to waltz, and quick step, did Ballet when I was younger and passed all 5 grades, ending with a pass-plus in the hardest exam.
