Hi, My faith in human nature was redeemed yesterday when I read a letter in our local paper. An old lady was in her local flowershop, it was her 82 birthday and she was spending it alone, so she decided to treat herself to a bunch of flowers. When she had left the shop, a young man of about 22 gave the florist £20 and asked him to send the old lady another bumch of flowers anonoymously from him. She had sent a letter to the paper thanking the young man whoever he was. We are sometimes very quick to criticise the young, that good turn brought yet another tear to my eye. Plasmo x |

Hi Plasmo What a lovely story, they are out there, sometimes they dont look like Knights though. I suffer with Migraines and a while back I had a stonker, It started at work and by the time I managed to get myself most of the way home I was in a right state. I had to change buses and while waiting for my connection I fainted at the bus stop, there was a guy there, shell suit, tatts, peircings, greasy hair the works, not the sort of fella I would normally have glanced at let alone would have thought would rescue a damsel in distress. He wanted to call an amblulance, I insisted that I was ok and only needed to get home a lie down in a darkened room, he backed off and let me get on my bus and then came and sat beside me, he got off the bus when I did, followed me at a pace behind to my front door watched me open the door (had I been well I would have been very freaked out by this) as I opened the door he said, glad you are home safe, I'm going back now(to where I fainted) to get my bus home! Never seen him since and If I did I'd give him a mega hug - I was deffinately being watched over that day. There must be many more knight in shining armour stories out there, I'd love to hear them! Have a good day |

My little girl once left her teddy in the Ladies at our rail station when just a toddler, and didn't realise till we were on the train with 2 mins to go - I didn't have time to leap off and get it for her, as I would have had to drag her and brother behind me, but there were a gang of 'yoof' hanging around and making a row on the platform, so I leant out the door and attracted their attention so I could quickly explain what had happened. It wasn't obvious from their expressions and the fact that they didn't appear to have paid too much attention to me that they either heard me properly - or even cared that much, but when we returned to the station later that day I asked at the office just on the offchance whether they'd got the teddy, and the girl said yes they had, and they'd all in the office been quite cheered by the fact that a bunch of tattooed yoof had trotted in with it and asked them to hold on to it. Just another little example of having faith in not-so-obvious Knights! |

What lovely stories, ladies. My dad is my knight in shining armour, if ever I'm in trouble of any kind he is always there for me. OH does his best, bless him, but he doesn't have the practical skills my dad has. |

Years ago I took my daughter to our local pond to feed the ducks. As I was showing her how to throw bread into the pond for them, I accidently threw my car keys in as well. A really nice young policeman came to my rescue and waded into the pond up to his waist in smelly pond water full of duck do do and mud to see if he could find my keys. He did. What a star. I did write a thankyou letter praising him to the policestation so I hope he was given a huge pat on the back. |

Within the first few days of being on my own the flood gates opened with all of the things I hadn't been aware of. I went to see a solicitor, just told him the way things were and he said nothing for a while, just looked across the desk at me. I thought I had made a huge mistake. Then he said "I know you, I remember you from uni" I didn't recognise him, and he had changed courses in the second year. He was such a treasure and helped me so much to find my feet and gave me space to catch my breath. |

My 20 year old son is my knight in shining armour, he realised I was alone at home tonight and he has just walked in when I was expecting him to be staying out at a party. He left all his friends in the pub to keep me company. |

It cheers the heart to hear of lovely stories like these. 'Yoofs' often aren't given due credit so it's extra nice to hear about them. |

It just shows us not to judge a book by it's cover really, judge people by their deeds and not their looks. |
