Past Life Regression - Dr Brian Weiss

Chatelaine posted an interesting subject a week or so ago on Heaven, and Brian Weiss was mentioned in a couple of the threads. I was going to add my thoughts but I chickened out in case people thought I was crazy. I read Brian's book "Many Lives, Many Masters" a long time ago and thought it was fascinating. I also attended a one day seminar with him and found him to be a lovely, normal, nice and very friendly person. I have a couple of friends who hear messages from people who have died. I believe in reincarnation, that we come back each time to experience different things, and that there is more to life that what we're experiencing now. I won't go deeper than that, and wasn't even going to go that far until I watched Oprah yesterday. Her show was with Dr Weiss on reincarnation and it was fascinating. I'm not sure if you get the Oprah shows soon after they are shown here, but if you can catch this one it's well worth watching if you're interested in this subject. In the meantime you can take a look at some of the things that he said on www.oprah.com - I think this link might take you there: http://www2.oprah.com/health/oz/slide/20080513/oz_20080513_350_101.jhtml

I loved these words: "Dr. Weiss says the most common question he's asked about past-life regression is if there is a presence of God in the process. "I find God everywhere in this," he says.

Think of the experience as an ice cube, Dr. Weiss says. Ice cubes are solid until they're melted by heat energy. They become water, but if you add more heat energy, that water will turn into steam. The same molecule—H2O—is still there, just in a different form.

Dr. Weiss says people are like ice cubes. "We're the solid part, the condensed part. We think we're separate from everybody else. We're not. If you heat us with love energy—not heat energy but love energy—we melt into a spiritual sea," he says. "And if you keep heating with love, you find God. God is the steam. God is beyond the steam—the organizing wisdom that's in every atom of our being."

In the end, we're not so separate, Dr. Weiss says. "We're not different from each other," he says. "We're all souls, and souls are all connected."

These personally are my beliefs also. I say personal because our belief systems are very personal to each of us. These happen to be mine but I respect that other people have different beliefs. So having said all this I now have to figure out if I want to hit that 'ok, submit' button!!

Now that is interesting!! I will have a look at that link a bit later on Marg, as some things as mundane as laundry and cat loos are on my immediate list.
I will get back to you later on this!

Hi Marg444

So glad you did press the submit button. I had a look at the link you sent and was fascinated by all the Dr.Weiss said. Think it would be so interesting to find out all about our past lives, I've often thought, I know this place or person even if i've never been there or met them before, sort of like de-ja-vu. Would love to read his book. Any ideas where I could get hold of a copy?

Hi Marg 444
While I'm on the fence about reincarnation, I found this really interesting as it sums up in a way what I belive - a bit more eloquently than I could do! I think that if there is a sea of souls from which we come and to which we return, it's quite logical that we would carry with us memories of previous experiences - I'm just not convinced their our own memories, rather than shared expereinces that we somehow tap into. I will certainly read up about Dr Weiss.

Re: Past Life Regression - Dr Brian Weiss

Hi Valaber, Dr Weiss thought that his client Catherine that he had hypnotised was also tapping into shared memories, or just plain fantasies, until she said someone was giving him a message - it was about his father, and his young son who had both died. He said at that point he knew that there was something more since the information she had given him was not available anywhere. Sorry, hope that didn't read like I was trying to sway you - I'm not. I happen to believe it but my H for example doesn't and that's fine. I just thought that the story of how Dr W got started on this path was interesting.

Re: Past Life Regression - Dr Brian Weiss

Hi Marg, so agree have already posted on another thread it is lovely to have everyone's thoughts without any offence being taken. There would be no point in us being on the forum if we all agreed. I think the difficulty lies when someone expresses an opinion that is onesided and offensive.

I agree Chipmunk - and I'm happy that there's been no onesided and offensive opinions for a long time. The mood on the forum has been supportive and friendly for a while now. yea!

I havent read many lives many masters yet but I was told to read it by an Italian girl who drew a beautiful portrait of my 29yearold niece who had passed away...I did order the book of Ebay over a year ago but it never arrived...I like to keep an open mind on these things as I find it all very interesting,Cathy.
