fund raising events

Need any help or advice organising a fund raising event? Friends and I have successfully held large 'summer spectaculars' and raised over £8000 so far for hospitals in Newcastle. We are happy to share our ideas and experiencs with anyone,

Re: fund raising events

Yes please. We are trying to raise funds for the local twinning association, to enable the youth of the area to participate in different activities with the youth from a little village in France.Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: fund raising events

I/ll tell you what we did and you can use whatever you think will work for you.
We wrote letters to local businesses and shops explaining what we were doing and asked for donations for a raffle. We got a great response and the raffles raised hundreds of pounds. Make sure to display a list of all companies who donated as it's good advertising for them.
We hired a local band and had a great disco/dance. Great fun
We had a buffet.
Tombola.
Quiz.
We charged £10 a ticket including buffet.
Both events were sold out within a week.
Get the local press involved.
if you're raising funds for charity you'll find people can be very generous.we were given venues free of charge as long as we used their buffets.
Good luck and if i can help you any more please don't hesitate to ask.
