I live about 14 miles away, used to live in the city in my twenties..and I love it!
There is lots to do, as others have said,..art galleries,(The walker and the Tate), Maritime Museum, National Museum, the Yellow Duck tour, open topped bus tour, Beatles Museum, Magical Mystery (Beatles ) tour, Speke Hall (about 5 miles from the city)...and ...of course...

...the Ferry 'Cross the Mersey!!
