How wonderful that you have booked a stay in Castle Deudraeth. It's a beautiful hotel and within walking distance of the Portmeirion Hotel and the beautiful grounds. The food is great in both hotels but I prefer the Castle Deudraeth my self. My OH and I spend 4 days a week in this area having a little bolthole in Porthmadog. He adores Portmeirion and will go every week if I let him. Do make time to do the lovely woodland walks as a lot of people don't realise that there is more to the village than the houses and shops and galleries etc.
Try a visit to Borth y Gest (about 15 min drive away) it is a lovely Welsh village stuck in the 1950's - Bliss!
