Are you staying in Cork City?? If so there are so many things to do and see. Shopping is quite good and you will get some good buys changing your sterling for euro.

A trip to Blarney Castle to kiss the Blarney Stone is a must and a short bus trip from the City Centre.
Fota Wild Life Park is another thing to see. But I think you need a car to drive through.

Another bus trip from the City will take you to the ports of Crosshaven and Kinsale which are lovely little fishing villages.

And then of course you have the night life - which is just as good as Dublin. Lots of pubs and nice restaurants.

You will both enjoy it.
