Ideas please for storing shoes.

I don't want to revamp my bedroom at the mo so am not thinking of fitted wardrobe methods.

I find they are not easy to find when loose in the bottom of the wardrobe, ends up a jumble of odd shoes.

I've always kept the shoe boxes and kept them in the spare room. I was finding I forget what shoes I have so photographed each pair and stuck the colour piccie on the outside of the box. This has been quite good as easy to see all the colours and styles. However, the boxes keep falling over as they are not all the same size and it looks a bit of a mess.

I had wondered about buying a load of the see thro boxes I've seen advertised.

Anyone got any suggestions?
