I go to get one?

I will be celebrating my 50th birthday in september and would really like a make-over..you know clothes/make-up etc... I have just had my hair re-styled and it looks very sexy/girly even if I say so myself.
Anybody out there who can give me ideas on how I would go about having a make-over...I live in a male dominant house..i.e. OH and son..and my sister lives too far away to ask..Help!!!
