LOVED Berlin when we went last year - it is a very young and uber-cool place.
Definitely go with the foxy boots - they will keep you warm and look great. Wear them on the plane ,along with your warm coat. Some fab coloured leather gloves would be a great accesory too ( sorry about the recurring theme - berliners do seem to like leather..) dont forget your wooly undies!
