I used to colour my own hair but it has become increasingly difficult/time consuming like trying to hold back the tide! Perhaps i just got lazy but I too pay Ł40 here in Bangor. It does make sense to do it yourself provided you can find the right colour( the number of times i have ended up looking like an old crow!)Clairol Lasting Colour are very good and easy to use but their medium brown is very dark - be warned.One girl I know mixes two together and it is lovely.
