Take heart it will grow.
I once had my hair cut and highlighted. I was putting the world to rights with my hairdresser and didn't notice how much he was cutting off. It was really short. When I got home my now ex husband said'mm you look a bit like a bantum with your hair that colour and that short'
With it being short the colour soon grew out and after a couple of weeks it didn't seem that short.
