Yes Cathy..it is a great resource.i used to work in Health Promotion and we use this kind of thing alot. Another resource we used is one called WRAP, which stands for Wellness Recovery Action Planning.I wont do it justice by trying to describe it here myself in detail.Basically, when you are feeling well you start a file listing things you like to do on a day to day level that make you feel better it could be as simple as running a bubbly bath or making a cup of tea.You then have a section which describes how you feel when you are having a good day, or a bad day.There is ALOT more to it than that but we had lots of success with it. It was developed by an american woman called Mary Ellen Copeland and is used by many PCTs with their service users..in fact only yesterday I saw a flier advertising a course in it for professionals. I haven't got a link as such bit if anyone is intersted ,Google Mary Ellen Copeland and look for the WRAP programme. Now I really should get off here and go and do something.xx |
