Re: yoga

Hi Violet and everyone else.
I've long been a fan of yoga. I originally started with Iyengar when my son was a toddler as it offered a creche but I soon became hooked. I've had several 'breaks' over the years due to relocation and finding good teachers but I think once you've got a fairly good grasp of the basic postures you can easily slip back into it again. I'm currently recovering from major surgery and illness before that so haven't actually attended a class for some time but even now still find the breathing exercises and some of the simple stretches very useful. Even just maintaining good posture is excellent and really helps with any back niggles.

I think that the key is finding a good teacher in the first place as that will set you up for a lifetime of yoga. They vary so much that it can be a bit hit and miss but a good teacher should always make you feel at ease, build your confidence and offer alternatives to some of the more challenging postures. Above all enjoy yourself.

I'm itching to get back to it now!!
