I've never been any good with pastry - I made a batch of mince pies years ago and they were so vile, you could have bounced them on the pavement, the pastry was so horrible!

Nowadays,it's the shop bought variety every time - usually M&S, but I actually bought some award winning ones from the Co Op today, and they were pretty yummy!
