Yes - I do dinner parties - 10-12 people and I LOVE THE WHOLE THING! I love choosing menu, shopping, laying table, ironing napkins, flowers...the whole event. I always work like crazy before folks arrive. OH does music & drinks and takes over kitchen at coffee time.

I ALWAYS choose food that is heavy work on preparation but leaves me free to be with the people as soon as they arrive. I rarely feel stressed and love the buzz of feeding lots of people. This makes the evening relaxed and lovely..Quite informal in a lovely kind of way...
