My, now ex MIL gave us a hideous candle stick as a 25th anniversary present. She had asked her other son and wife if they thought we would like it. They were not very honest about it and said they thought it was lovely.
They were obviously too enthusiastic about it as she bought one exactly the same for their 25th present a year later!!!
Mine went to the local charity shop after keeping it in the cupboard under the sink for a respectable time!!
