I had to have a drink with an engaged couple. He was a very attractive 56-year old and she was a sweet, slightly old-fashioned 24-year old. The problem is, as I am the same age as the man but the same sex as the woman I feel I can see both sides. She thinks he is someone to admire and look up to. What I noticed, after only 20 minutes, was that he is mean; he has a grown up family still very much in his, not her, life; he thinks about sex much more than she seemed to realise. At her age she thinks he really wants her for her mind. What will happen when she wants a baby? I felt like screaming to her "run! run like the wind!"
