I had to join in this conversation. Am nearing the end of Shardlakes third outing and loving it as much as Dissolution and Dark Fire. The descriptions of York at the time are amazing and as a frequent visitor to the city will be looking at the old city walls in a new light. Have bought Winter in Madrid so sorry to hear that it does not live up!!
