Friday nights, a departure from previous novels, concerns six individual women, rather than a family. The women, a disparate collection ranging from early twenties to seventy plus, meet regularly on Friday nights to share a bottle of wine. But when one member of the group meets a man, everything changes. I did enjoy this book, but not as much as her previous novels. There were too many characters, all flawed in some way and I found them intensely irritating and frustrating. However I am sure her many fans will still enjoy this book. |
