Hello North Cheshire/South Manchester Walkers I met up with Erica and Jeni today for coffee in Alderley Edge and we decided to have our first walk this Saturday 14th June. We thought we should keep it easy the first time. We have agreed to walk in the Styal Woods / Wilmslow area meeting up at 2pm and if you would like to join us we would be happy to meet you. The meeting place is a car park which serves The Carrs. (It is not the main The Carrs car park marked on the Manchester A-Z as that gets busy at weekends being right by the children's adventure play area.) The car park is beside the B5166. If you are travelling from the Wilmslow direction the car park is at the bottom of the hill just before Twinnies Bridge. You will notice a low grey stone wall on the left hand side and the turning into the car park is immediately before that. If travelling towards Wilmslow, after passing Styal Prison on your left-hand side you go down a narrow hill with trees overhead and then over Twinnies Bridge (narrow bridge) that crosses the River Dean. There is a low grey stone wall on the right hand side of the road and you turn right into the car park as soon as the wall ends. The car park is not marked on the Manchester A-Z but Twinnies Bridge is marked. We thought we would possibly walk once a month at first until we see the response and then we can arrange accordingly. All welcome to join us of course but if you can let us know you are coming that may be a good idea so we don't leave anybody behind. Let me know if directions not clear. Best wishes Sandra |
