Cuppy I would normally answer no to all your questions. I believe the older you get the less likely you are to be shocked/surprised by anything.
Today however I am shocked that soldiers are still being killed in Afghanistan because they lack the right kit to do the job. 30+ years ago I was nursing badly wounded soldiers as a result of bomb blasts in Northern Ireland - it seems nothing changes and I weep for all the families affected by the failure of the government/MOD to provide our forces with the materials to do the job.
