I married a workaholic too. Lots of cancelled holidays here as well. I'm not one to give out marital advice but it struck me that your OH is currentyl on a very short fuse and this innocent conversation was the straw that broke the camel's back.

From the little you've said, and I hate making assumptions, but it sounds like he's overwhelmed by the responsibility of everything.

As they say, it's not you, it's him. Can you give him a wide berth for a bit? My DH needs lots of time to think things through.
