Stop the flashing icon...HELP!
      #87693 - 04/04/2008 12:14

The icon for PMs flashes constantly even when I have read all the PMs. I have been driven to delete some in an effort to get it to stop but nothing works. It keeps saying I have some unread, but I've read them all...

My icon would not stop flashing just now,and like you I deleted some pm's in an effort to stop it.

Some pm's have got a letter beside them and I found that when I deleted those with an N the icon stopped.

Mind you I quite like the icon flashing as I do look forward to getting mail.

Aren't the pm's with N beside them the ones that have not been read? If you open them the icon will stop flashing.

Yes the pm's with N beside them ARE the 'not read' items. Open these and the icon will stop flashing. You do not have to delete them to stop them flashing so you can keep your messages. What I am not sure about is when your postbox is full. Is it when there are a number of unread messages or is it when you have a number of read messages. I have until recently allowed mine to build up until there are quite a few but delete them all now.
