Great community, but the forums need a bit of sorting
      #56649 - 05/02/2008 15:20

Firstly, I really want to thank W&H for setting up this community.

If we want it to continue and grow we need W&H's help to keep it in good order. It would be useful to have some well-defined "sticky" threads in each forum - especially the Supper Club forum - with instrcutions on how to post in some of the threads. For example anyone wanting see if a supper club is in their area could just use the name of their town followed by a question mark in the subject line. Exisitng supper clubs could be displayed in regions to help people find them more easily.

I think it is really good that so many people who are new to forums are posting. It would help though if some of the postings were moved to the appropriate threads as some of them go off track from time to time.

A really good example of a well-organised forum is Money Saving Expert - that has masses of different subjects but is very easy to navigate. Maybe W&H could talk to Martin Lewis and find out how they run theirs. The MSE community is now a force to be reckoned with and part of its success is that people find its forums easy to use.

The W&H site is making a difference to lots of women, please let's make it as easy as possible for many, many more to benefit.

I still have not really got the hang of the order of posts. They do not seem to be in date order, i.e. lastest posting at the top which to me would make more sense, or am I just not seeing the order that is there. I am sure WFC will put me right!

The confuses me too. New posts do not appear at the top of the page so if someone replies to a thread you've previously read it could be several pages away and easily missed.

Me too. Never encountered a forum using this method before. I think it's very difficult to catch up if you haven't been on line for a few days because of this.
