Hi all
Just wanted to mention insurance if your child has gone to uni, you can usually cover them under your home contents policy. Its not usually a problem the first year in halls but my daughter moved into a shared house with friends for her second year and yesterday they were burgled and all the laptops stolen. I was quite impressed that they called the landlord to board up the broken window and the police straight away before calling me with the bad news. Suzie

Watch out because when they all get new laptops next week the chances are that they will be "Done" again.
This happened to my ED at uni. Poor area, cheap student houses, they were done 3 times and she was sure they were selling the stuff, at the second hand shop, down the end of the road.
She got fed up and chose a better area for her 3rd year.

Sorry to hear that Suzie, that's terrible, but quite common around Uni areas. My son had his car broken into several times when at Uni, and stuff stolen from the house. Watch those new laps tops tho like loo says.

Gosh Suzie, I never even thought about household insurance. My son is in his second year and has moved into a house with 6 other friends. I bet they have not thought about it either. Will mention it next time I speak to him, especially as it will probably be OH and me that have to replace things that our stolen.
Thanks for letting us know
Kim
